Celebrating Our Women in STEM: Meet Morgan and Kaitlin

women in stemAs a predominantly women-led company, Beekley Medical is no stranger to supporting women in all career choices.  Women have historically been underserved and underrepresented in health sciences. More women in STEM careers directly benefit the healthcare industry and, more importantly, its patients by introducing diverse perspectives, innovative ideas, and heightened empathy into patient care. This diversity not only fosters more creative problem-solving but also ensures healthcare solutions are more inclusive, compassionate, and effective, ultimately improving patient experiences and outcomes.

Morgan’s Story

Beekley Medical Product Design EngineerMorgan earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in biomedical engineering from UConn, specializing in neuroprosthetics. Her graduate research involved designing diagnostic circuits for implantable microelectrode arrays used in neurostimulation, significantly shaping her perspective on engineering's impact in healthcare.

After graduation, Morgan spent three years at a biotech startup developing an advanced imaging device for cancer detection, contributing to system development, PCB design, and clinical research.

She joined Beekley Medical, driven by a lifelong interest in medical technology sparked by witnessing a friend’s transformative medical treatment. At Beekley, Morgan continues to advance professionally, gaining expertise in solid modeling, design for manufacturing, and regulatory processes.

In her role as a product design engineer, Morgan embodies Beekley’s commitment to World Class Customer Care by developing and rigorously testing products to ensure optimal performance for patients and healthcare providers. She thrives in the creative problem-solving and innovation process, regularly participating in collaborative brainstorming sessions.
