Once again Beekley Corporation has the honor of being named one of the best places in Connecticut to work.
This is a special honor as we were one of 987 organizations to be nominated as one of CT's Top Workplaces. Nominated companies had to have a minimum of 50 employees in the greater Hartford area (Hartford, Middlesex, Tolland, Windham, and New London counties) and agree to have an outside agency conduct confidential surveys of their employees. Although there was no fee to employers to participate, not all companies nominated chose to partake in the survey.
The surveys were conducted by Workplace Dynamics LLC, a research firm in Exton, PA, on behalf of the Hartford Courant and Fox CT.
A total of 28,707 employees at the participating organizations were surveyed with approximately 60% responding. I am pleased to say that thanks to our highly-engaged associates, Beekley's response rate was a very impressive 92%!
In the end, only 60 of the companies nominated were selected as a Top Workplace in CT.
We call ourselves a "great small company," and we love it when others do too.
This was Beekley's first year participating in Top Workplaces and you can't imagine how thrilled we are to rank #9 in the small employer category (50-149 local employees). This was the largest category overall, representing 35 of the 60 companies named as a top workplace.
While it was an honor to be in the top 10 small companies, I am particularly proud of the Special Award we received.
The special awards are based on standout scores in employee responses to a particular statement from the survey. Beekley was recognized as "Doers" thanks to a stand-out score in agreement with the statement "At this company, we do things efficiently and well." I think we do.
I particularly like this award as it reflects our corporate culture and dedication, talent, enthusiasm and teamwork of our associates.
I am thrilled and humbled to thank our amazing Beekley Team for once again making it known that our great small company is one of the Top Places to work in CT.
