Let’s Talk InkRight Semi-Permanent Tattoos: Answering Your Real-World Questions

What made the conversation so engaging wasn’t just the product; it was the thoughtful, practical questions being asked by people who clearly care about how a product performs in the real world.

These weren’t scripted questions; they were the kind of questions any care team might ask when deciding whether to bring something new into their workflow. So we figured, why not share those questions and answers here? Whether you’re just hearing about InkRight or are in the middle of evaluating it for your department, this could give you some helpful clarity.

Are They Hypoallergenic?

One of the first and most important questions we received was: “Are they hypoallergenic?”

The answer is yes. InkRight is designed to be hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin, which helps ensure a comfortable experience for most patients.

What Happens When a Tattoo Starts to Fade?

Another clinician asked: “How easy is it to reapply a new one over an old one?”

We loved this question because it shows forward-thinking.

Fortunately, reapplication is easy. Due to the clear cover, if a mark begins to fade, you can simply place a new InkRight tattoo directly over the old one.  It’s one less thing to worry about during a busy treatment day.

Can We Just Use Alcohol Wipes Instead of What’s in the Kit?

IR-WIPING-SKIN-2-0824This question came up next: “Do we really have to use the wipes that come with it?”

While it’s tempting to default to alcohol wipes already stocked in most departments, the primer wipes included with InkRight serve a specific purpose. They prep and moisturize the skin, helping the tattoo adhere better and last longer.

Alcohol wipes can dry out the skin, potentially affecting the tattoo’s visibility and longevity. So yes, using the provided wipes does make a difference. And don’t forget to wait a full 30 seconds after prepping the skin with the primer wipe before applying InkRight.

What If a Patient Removes the Cover Early?

A great case scenario-based question came up: “What if a patient pulls off the cover sooner than two hours?”

The InkRight cover has been tested with various wear times, from just three minutes to overnight.

Even when the clear cover is removed earlier than recommended, the mark will still develop, though the best results come from leaving the cover on for the full recommended duration. InkRight offers flexibility without sacrificing effectiveness.

Oops, Wrong Spot! Now What?

A common question on the call was: “What if we place it and realize it’s in the wrong spot?”

Unfortunately, once InkRight touches the skin and begins to adhere, it can’t be repositioned. So, taking an extra moment to confirm placement before pressing it down is essential. Think of it as a “measure twice, place once” kind of moment.

How Do We Handle InkRight During Application?

An InkRight Semi Permanent tattoo being applied to the skinAnother practical questions that came up was, “How do we handle InkRight while applying it?”

There is a convenient pick-up tab that makes handling and application easy. You don’t need to worry about lifting or peeling all four corners, just use the tab to guide placement smoothly and cleanly.

Final Thoughts

What stood out during that conversation wasn’t just the interest in the product, it was also how well InkRight® semi-permanent tattoo stood up to close examination.

Every question showed a clinician thinking about workflow, patient experience, and clinical accuracy.

InkRight is an innovative product created with both patients and providers in mind: a respectful alternative to permanent tattoos that still gives your team the precision they need.

If your department is exploring modern alternatives to traditional tattooing during radiation treatment, InkRight™might be exactly what you’re looking for.
