Among this year’s inspiring recipients is Leah Marek-Pester, a full-time student in the Direct-Entry Master’s Program at the University of Minnesota.
A Letter of Gratitude: Leah Marek-Pester’s Story
In a heartfelt thank-you letter, Leah Marek-Pester expressed her sincere gratitude for receiving the Elequil Aromatabs Scholarship. Currently pursuing her Master’s of Nursing, Leah shared how the scholarship has significantly impacted her academic journey and future career in healthcare.

Nursing school is rigorous, both emotionally and academically. With the burden of tuition, textbooks, and clinical supplies eased, Leah has been able to dedicate herself wholly to becoming the best nurse she can be. But beyond just financial relief, the scholarship has motivated her to maintain high academic standards and to continue giving back to her community.
Leah currently maintains a 3.9 GPA and serves as Vice President of the Graduate Nursing Council at the University of Minnesota. Her ambition is to make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, and her goal is to work in an intensive care unit to deliver compassionate and competent care to those most in need.
Impact Beyond the Individual
Beekley Medical’s support is part of a broader commitment to the nursing profession. As acknowledged in a letter from FNSNA's CEO Kenya Williams, our 2025 contribution is part of a collective effort that helped the FNSNA award over $553,000 in scholarships to nursing students nationwide. These awards are celebrated annually at the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA) Convention, where scholars and sponsors are recognized for their contributions to the field.
