Beekley Medical, in partnership with FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation, was honored to co-sponsor the second annual Breast Imaging Education Summit, a two-day in-person event dedicated to empowering breast imaging professionals through education, collaboration, and innovation. Hosted in September, this year’s Summit brought together technologists, radiologists, administrators, and industry leaders from across the country for a complimentary, comprehensive educational experience offering 13 Category A CE credits. The event fostered meaningful dialogue around clinical excellence, workflow efficiency, and improving the patient experience in breast imaging.
A Shared Commitment to Clinical Excellence
The Breast Imaging Education Summit was created to provide hands-on learning and peer-to-peer exchange for those committed to advancing breast imaging practices. Through expert-led lectures, interactive sessions, and real-world case discussions, attendees gained valuable insights to take back to their imaging departments and patient care teams.
Topics covered throughout the two-day event included:
- MQSA updates and breast density communication
- Contrast-enhanced mammography implementation and reimbursement
- Workflow optimization and quality improvement
- Emerging imaging technologies and their clinical impact
- Positioning best practices and patient comfort techniques
Collaboration in Action: Beekley Medical’s Educational Impact
As a proud co-sponsor and active contributor, Beekley Medical demonstrated its continued commitment to supporting breast imaging professionals through both education and innovation.
Beekley’s Director of Training, Richard Foster, delivered a compelling presentation titled “Impact of Receptor Plate Covers on Tissue Acquisition, Skin Tears, and Patient Satisfaction.” His session explored how thoughtful product design and positioning tools, such as Bella Blankets® protective coverlets, can play a key role in enhancing image quality, protecting patient skin, and improving overall comfort during mammography.
Foster’s presentation underscored Beekley Medical’s mission to create simple innovations that make a meaningful difference in patient care and technologist workflow.
Building Community and Inspiring Collaboration
Beyond the lecture hall, the Summit provided an opportunity for breast imaging professionals to connect face-to-face, exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and celebrate shared successes.
The first day ended with a reception and live positioning breakout session workshops on the Fuji ASPIRE Cristalle unit performed by a Mammography Educators Consultant featuring the Miller Method™ using Bella Blankets. Additional partners included Volpara and Bloom™ Medical Simulation featuring the Mammovest® Breast Positioning Tool.
Attendees described the event as both educational and energizing, with one participant noting, “The seminar was well presented with all the speakers and very informative and knowledgeable to mammography.”
Many technologists expressed appreciation for the opportunity to hear directly from radiologists. As one attendee shared, “Wonderful event! Hearing from radiologists is highly valued by us technologists. I learned about this event at the last minute through work, and realizing that mammography radiologists were the speakers, I made the commitment to attend.”
One radiologist speaker shared: “Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this amazing conference. I really enjoyed the enriching interactions with other conference participants.”
Conversations extended beyond formal sessions into breakout discussions and informal gatherings, creating space for open dialogue about real-world challenges, from optimizing workflow and improving positioning consistency to enhancing patient comfort and communication.
For many, the Education Summit reaffirmed the importance of community within breast imaging, a field where collaboration and compassion go hand in hand. These meaningful exchanges not only strengthened professional relationships but also sparked ideas and motivation that attendees carried back to their practices.
The sense of connection and shared purpose throughout the event reflected the core values of both FUJIFILM and Beekley Medical: advancing breast health through teamwork, education, and continuous improvement.
Continuing the Mission
The success of this year’s Breast Imaging Education Summit goes beyond the number of credits earned or sessions attended. It represents the strength of a community driven by compassion, curiosity, and the shared goal of improving women’s health.
Each conversation, question, and collaboration throughout the Summit reflected a deep commitment to excellence in breast imaging. Attendees left with renewed confidence, new techniques to apply in their practices, and a greater sense of connection to one another and to the mission they all share: early detection and better patient experiences.
Beekley Medical is proud to be part of that mission. Through continued education, product innovation, and partnerships like this one with FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation, Beekley remains dedicated to empowering imaging professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to make a meaningful difference—one patient, one image, one moment at a time.
