Over the past 12 years, Beekley Medical Associates have participated in an annual St. Patrick's Day fundraiser for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

The St. Pat's for St. Jude's Fundraiser was the brainchild of Karin Copeland, Director of Continuous Learning & Leadership Development at Beekley Medical.

  • "One day while listening to the St. Jude's radio-thon on my way to work, I began crying my eyes out and considering a way in which to help, I came up with the idea to charge Beekley associates to dress down on St. Patrick's Day and all proceeds would be donated to St. Jude's.  We first charged a $4-$5 dress down fee however the associate donations far exceeded the fee.  In addition, our corporate caterer began making cookies and other treats to sell to increase our donation.  Finally, Beekley Medical agreed to match 100% of all money raised." -Karin Copeland, Director of Continuous Learning & Leadership Development.

St. Jude's Mission is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay. According to the St. Jude's website, donations help families in many ways like:

  • Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing and food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
  • To drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent in the next decade.

Year after year, Beekley Medical Associates look forward to participating in this fundraiser and are more than happy to donate to a great worthy cause.  Please join Beekley Medical in donating to this wonderful hospital.
